Presenter's Biography:
Dr. James L. Werth, Jr.
Dr. James L. Werth, Jr., PhD is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Radford University where he is also the Director of the PsyD Program in Counseling Psychology.
Dr. Werth is a pro bono psychologist for local community organizations. He has authored/co-authored many articles and chapters on ethical or legal topics. He is co-editor of the recently published book,
The Duty to Protect: Ethical, Legal, and Professional Considerations for Mental Health Professionals. Dr. Werth has also served on the APA’s Ad Hoc Committee on Legal Issues and Ad Hoc Committee on End-of-Life Issues and currently is a member of the APA Committee on Rural Health.
Dr. Werth received his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University and his Master of Legal Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
